Your Health Starts at Home
Helping clients find, create, and optimize homes that support health, longevity, and quality of life.
Your home is doing more than sheltering you — it's actively shaping your health, your energy, and how you feel every single day.
I'm Emiline Layfield. I love helping clients understand what's happening in their space and what becomes possible when they start paying attention to it. Through Building Biology–informed consulting, I work alongside homeowners, builders, and architects to create homes that are beautifully considered and genuinely supportive of long-term well-being.
As a Realtor® with Sotheby's International Realty Canada — whether you're buying, selling, or reimagining the home you're already in — you have someone in your corner who understands both the market and what makes a home truly worth living in.
My work brings together formal training in Building Biology and Environmental Consulting with years of experience in luxury real estate. The things most people never think to ask about — air quality, lighting, acoustics, water, electromagnetic environment — are central to how I evaluate every home.
I translate complex environmental knowledge into clear, actionable guidance that fits your life, your priorities, and your vision.
My goal is simple: that the spaces you inhabit, over time, genuinely work for you — not just aesthetically, but in the way you sleep, the way you feel, and the way you live.
My WhyMy path to this work began personally — I got sick in a space and spent a long time searching for answers. I eventually found the Building Biology Institute, and with it, an entire framework for understanding how our homes affect our health — but no clear path for where to start, who to hire, or how to navigate it from where I lived.
That gap, and years of watching clients make one of the most significant decisions of their lives, made the path forward clear: become the expert I couldn't find, and use every interaction as an opportunity to educate, empower, and help people feel truly supported in the spaces they call home. What I didn't expect was the community — a remarkable network of practitioners, specialists, and fellow Building Biologists doing incredible work around the world. Supporting and amplifying that work has become one of the greatest joys of this path.
